Vintage Car: The Classy Hobby

Talking about an expensive hobby, huh? Car Collecting can take a toll on your finances as this one of the most costly hobbies in the long run. But, for first-timers, it may not be as expensive as you think.

If you are one of those you stare at a vintage car as it passes by, you enjoy its unmistakable styling, then this might be the hobby for you.

Vintage Car collecting is not just about how many cars you own or which ones do you have, it's about the connection and history you have with each vehicle, you are not just collecting cars, you are collecting history and stories, each of these cars have a story to tell, and it is your responsibility as a collector to share that story with the World.

As I mentioned before, this hobby requires a lot of work and money, you'll be turning old beaters into a Masterpiece which will need maintenance every now and then. You can choose how much time you'll spend whereas can be a few hours a week or a few hours a day.

Vintage car collecting has a unique way to start a conversation and connecting people from all walks of life and different generations. The World's most famous car collector Jay Leno, says he only buys Vintage Cars that comes with an even Vintage Story behind it.

You may call them Vintage cars, but there is a classification you have to be aware of, should you want to start out in this hobby. There are two types of Vintage Vehicles, Antiques, and Classics.

Antiques from 1900 - 1930 the Early Ford T-Models changed the global manufacturing of cars just as the Cadillac Model K did too. In the 1910's The Packard Twin Six offered a 12-cylinder engine, The 1915 Cadillac V-8 Type 51 offered a powerful V-8 engine. in the 1920's we have the Chrysler Model B-70, the Auburn Speedster, and the 1927 LaSalle.

They may be over a hundred years old, there are still plenty of them in use and well preserve throughout the World.

Classic Cars came from the 1940s through the 1980s. Some major players like the Oldsmobile Station Wagon, Chevrolet Bel Air, Chrysler Diablo, Cadillac Eldorado, Ford Thunderbird, Ford Mustang, Dodge Charger, Chevrolet Camaro, Lincoln Continental, Ford Bronco, Plymouth Barracuda, Dodge Lancer Shelby, The Mercury Cougar XR-7, Honda Prelude, and the Lincoln Continental Mark VII LSC, were just some of the most outstanding vehicles of these decades worth restoring and collecting.

With this basic information, you may be ready to start your own collection, remember as with any other hobby involving the collection, you need to set a Budget, with car collecting you have two options, whether you may them already restore and fully operational or you buy them from scraps and work your way up. With the latter, you'll need a budget for all the spare parts you may need, so, do your research well, compare prices and start restoring.

This truly is the Hobby were kids are made into men, just like cars are made from old beaters to wonderful masterpieces.
